Dive Courses
SeaUrchin is offering dive training in Mauritius according to the international recognized diving organizations SSI, PADI and CMAS (MSDA, IDA & VDST).
We offer dive training in Mauritius following international standards. Here are some ideas for your next holidays.
The most enrolled courses in our diving school are the OPEN WATER DIVER and the Advanced Open Water Diver.
Since SSI went digital in January 2015 it provides you the option to start immediately with the theoretical training even before your holidays.
While being registered, you will receive FREE access to SSI Online Training for Try Scuba Diving and Basic Diver.
The OWD diving licence is the basic dive education. The OWD course includes both a theoretical and a practical training part. At the end of the course, you have to pass a written exam. We recommend, to take a time of four days for the diving licence, as you need to complete four open water dives.
The further diving licence is the Advanced OWD course. Diving experience is hereby mediated mainly by performing individual special dives such as Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Drift Diving, Night Diving, Navigation, Perfect Buoyancy, etc.
An overview of dive training that might be significant from our point of view:
The AOWD or Advanced Adventurer Diver certification by SSI or PADI, is a must, after the OPEN WATER DIVER certificate as it allows divers to dive up to a maximum depth of 30m.
The Deep Diver Specialty by SSI or PADI, entitles the holder an insured dive up to a depth of 40m.
The Rescue Diver (PADI) and Stress & Rescue (SSI) diving certificate is not only a diving course with a high fun factor, but it also covers all important elements of stress prevention in diving. Dealing with my personal stress or the one of my diving buddy. To perform the diving certificate, a First Aid certificate which should not be older than two years is required. This courses can be done with us as well. We teach SSI React Right, PADI Emergency First Response or CMAS Secourisme.
A Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty in order not to harm the sensitive underwater world besides the fact that the perfect buoyancy also serves your own safety.
